Below are some testimonials of people our organization has touched: -

BEATRICE KADESA
I am the current Miss Peace for Makadara and a member of Family Community Based Organization Kenya. Being a member of this organization has really played a very big role into what I am today. Through the conferences, seminars and trainings I have represented the organization my character has really been moulded. Seminars on careers, communication skills, leadership skills, public relations etc have really helped in building my personality and further helped me make sound decisions especially career wise. After attaining the Miss Peace Makadara on the 5th of April 2008 where I represented my organization I was able to get sponsorships and bursaries for my education. I graduated from the University of Nairobi with a Bachelors degree and currently I work as a personal assistant to a very prominent person in our country. Part of my job description is to meet different people and with the exposure a got from the organization I gathered confidence that I have really helped me a lot in carrying out my duties effectively and efficiently.
Being a member of Family Community Based Organization Kenya is one of the best decisions that I have ever made in my life. I will always be a member.

My teachers and classmates both in Primary and Secondary school will classify me among the silent and shy persons. If they met me today they will confess that there has been a total transformation and I must confess that all the credit goes to the organization that I have been a part of from the beginning, the organization that has raised me up,The Family Community Based Organization Kenya. The confidence I brag about today, Morale, art of public speaking, knowledge on proposal writing, Networking, coordinating and communication skills are all a part of my life due to the workshops, forums and exposure that the organization has given me. Family Community Based Organization Kenya has given me the opportunity to interact with many young people, organizations and persons of substance who have added value to my life on different aspects. This has given me the opportunity to contribute on different matters affecting our community, country and continent at large. I participated on different forums such the 21st and 22nd UN Governing council where we advocated for the establishment of the UN-HABITAT Urban Youth Fund, The draft constitution, Youth Policy and Youth Council.

Through this organization I have been able to access bursary and financial support from well wishers who are supporting me with my current education and career to be a Certified Public Accountant and further attain a degree in Community Development. I have also attained the following certificates through the trainings that I have attended courtesy of the organization: Business Management and Entrepreneurship, HIV/AIDS Management, Peace Building and Conflict Resolution, Incident Command System Course, Volunteer management, Personal Development and above all leadership development. The members of Family Community Based Organization Kenya have been a wonderful bundle full of joy and support for they are my strength when I am weak and My guide when I am lost. I therefore pray for their lives and safety every day and night of each new day.

I am thankful to the organization for trusting me with the responsibility of running the organization’s Resource Centre as the Executive Director. This is a challenge that am taking positively and am committed to running the race set before me. That we shall continue to raise leaders and shape visions.

I have always had a passion of working with the community ever since I was young. The Family Community Based Organization Kenyan has helped me realize this dream and to utilize it to uttermost of my ability. Through the various trainings I have attended courtesy of the organization, I have been able to be well equipped and empowered with knowledge that will have in turn imparted back to the community as a way of giving back. Some of the trainings that the organization has taken me through include but not not limited to volunteer management, ICT Programs, Life skills, HIV/AIDS Training and Programs. The most outstanding one was the HIV/AIDS Training and Programs which enlightened on the pandemic and the ability to share and completely talk about AIDS related issues and moral trends in society. I am now able to train people on the same because I am a qualified counselor/Peer educator thanks to the organization. The ICT Programs have enriched my knowledge on the ICT trends which I have always applied I my day to day activities.

Through the organizations revolving fund scheme, I have been able to get some loan to start some income generating activities which in turn has made me to be self reliant. Currently working as the Finance and Administration Manager of the organization’s resource centre, it is evident that the organization has equipped me with all the necessary skills needed in leadership with all the responsibilities involved. I thank the Family Community Based Organization Kenya for bringing me this far for through it I have been able to realize my potential and make use of all the available opportunities geared towards growth, youth and community development.
