This is a unique group consisting of the young people Its inception has done a lot to the community at large. This can be seen through leadership by our chairman Moses Oluchiri which is reliable. His leadership has motivated members to work as a team and encourage the younger generation where they acquire skills and qualities to help them overcome day to day challenges, solve problems with ease and gain self esteem. Members and the community at large are highly recognized at each level and their opinions respected without being discriminated.

I am personally physically challenged and this organization has provided for me a place I call home. I am handled and treated with utmost respect, love and care. This organization has made me learn, understand, appreciate and accept that disability is not inability, that I can achieve anything I want so long as am focused determined and committed.
I would like to encourage more young people despite their physical conditions to participate in the organizations’ activities since through this they will definitely acquire more knowledge and be able to explore their talents and earn an income out of it.
I sincerely thank the organization for incorporating me in the Resource Centre Sports, Culture and Talent Department.

HARRISON KATONO
Family Community Based Organization Kenya, formally Family Rock Youth Group is a group well known to me, since the group was formed the organization has done a lot to the Eastlands Community. The organization has played a big role in the society mostly in Eastlands, ever since it was a youth group, it has brought back the lost glory of our community which was lost long time ago. The organization has also brought back the lost hope to the community, mostly to the children and youths whom had lost hope due to poverty. As you know most of the youths from eastlands have been branded to hard criminals and even Eastlands itself has been branded a crime prone area as a result the organization has managed to bring up youths from different areas by organizing activities and also sponsor their own small business to sustain themselves.

The organization through education and training department has successfully outsourced bursaries, scholarships and sponsorships to the needy students who are bright in the society. The organization has also been so concern and active about the area’s environment by conducting tree planting, garbage collection and clean ups. We have also been able to organize different sports events as a tool to address the pertinent issues that affect the community. Personally I have gained a lot from the organization, It is through the organization Education and Training department that I succeffully completed my driving course after the organization sponsored me to do the course. Through the business development department the organization gave a loan to start up my own small business.
The organization has also exposed me so much in many ways through forums, workshops, seminars and trainings that I have represented the organization.

In conclusion I would therefore thank the organization so much and ask the organization to keep up with the good work. I also would like to call upon like minded organizations and donors to work very closely with the organization for the benefit of the community and people of Eastlands.
