Family Community Based Organization
Kenya is an association of Kenya citizens, residents
of Nairobi Province and constituents of Makadara Division,
who have organized themselves into a group with the aim and
purpose of working together, networking with others and encouraging
the spirit of cooperation. The organization strives to motivate
best practices for objective living in its efforts and desire
to transform the community by alleviating poverty.
OBJECTIVES OF THE ORGANIZATION
- The paramount objective of Family Community Based Organization
Kenya is to empower the youth to be self reliant and reliable
people in the community.
- To raise money arms to start income generating projects
- To see to it that the academic standards of its members
are improved
- To foster a spirit of co-operation thus promote hard work,
unity and overcome laxity, idleness thus promote hard work
among us.
- To do community based works such as clean-ups, environmental
conservations and awareness campaigns.
- To assist the relevant governmental and non-governmental
organization arms in the fight of HIV/AIDS.
- Giving back to society by visitation of the less fortunate
i.e. children homes, orphanages e.t.c.
- To help its members in difficult moments like sickness
and death.
- Creating awareness on alcohol, drugs and substance abuse.
OUR ACTIVITIES

We frequently carry out
clean ups, do house to house garbage collection, beautification
by planting of trees and flowers.
- We do house painting both in house painting and outside,
we have managed to paint the outside of the blocks in Jericho.

We visit children’s
homes and encourage the children e.g. CURA in Kikuyu Kabete.

We have attended several
workshops, seminars and trainings on HIV/AIDS, life skills,
peer education, volunteer management, peace building and
conflict resolution, personal development and we also
visited the Nairobi stocks exchange and learned about
shares.

We organize sports events,
beauty contest and other games that bring community together.
With these events we encourage best practices for objective
living.

We offer part time private
tuition for children, students and adults who are interested
in learning.
OUR ACHIVEMENTS
- We have improved security in our area by doing community
policing, seeing to it that all security lights are working
and have involved the so called bad boys in our group activities.
- We have helped youths fill bursary forms and do follow
up for them and many of them have benefited from this.
- We rehabilitated a playing ground that was being used
as a dumping site and it is now being used by the community
for different activities and tournaments.
- Our members have attended much training on HIV/AIDS,
life skill personal development, peace building and with
knowledge we motivate positive behavioral change.
- We initiated the ‘Rembesha Mtaa’ Project
where we have painted more than 20 blocks/houses in Jericho
estate with that we beautified our area and created employment
to more than 12 young people on a daily basis.
- We held a harambe and with the money we stated a successful
revolving fund scheme with which we have been able to economically
empower our members. We’ve been able to have the following
projects for our members: telephone bureau, carpentry, house
painting, selling of mitumba clothes and took several members
to driving schools and they acquired a driving licenses.
- We have opened up a Resource Centre that is serving,
the youth and community at large through the different programs
we have.
ORGANIZATION
SUSTAINABILITY
The Organization depends on members monthly contributions
of and money got from our different projects and business
activities and well wishers and sponsors who also chip in
to support our projects and activities.
The different
organization projects and businesses are as follows:

- Cyber Café,
internet, typing, printing and photocopying services
- ICT training
- Job Consultancy
- Running of Petty Errands
